As the holiday season quickly approaches it is important to consider how we can give back. The essence of the holidays are centered around giving, gratitude and abundance. Every year I look for opportunities to help out and give back to the local community. This holiday season we have chosen to support a program in one of our local schools.
This program is unique and special because it focuses on a under recognized and under fulfilled need in many communities, access to personal hygiene products. Basic personal hygiene is incredibly important to basic physical and mental health and wellness.
This holiday season we are excited to be supporting a hygiene drive for one of our local elementary schools. We are collaborating with Carla Knight Homes and Slater Elementary School to support the Slater Elementary “Hub”. The “Hub” is a storefront located within the school that allows students that are in need to come and discreetly “shop” for items that they may need at home. Students are not required to pay for any of these items. They are invited to “shop” if a potential need is identified. Items offered for “purchase” in the Hub include food items, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies and other household items.
We are taking donations for personal hygiene products, as they are in very high demand. Items that we are specifically requesting include: body soap, hair care products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouth wash, feminine hygiene products, razors, shaving cream and deodorant.
Items can be donated at either of the following locations:
- Elevate Health Chiropractic, 2201 Kipling Street, Suite 100, Lakewood CO 80215
- Carla Knight Homes, 141 Union Blvd, Suite 200, Lakewood CO 80228
Please contact Dr. Jennifer Andrade at info@elevatehealthchiro.com or Carla Knight at carlaknighthomes@gmail.com for more information on the hygiene drive or to schedule your drop off.
